Department of Cooperative Governance Hiring 

The Department of Cooperative Governance (DCoG) has announced an exciting senior management vacancy for the position of Chief Director: Community Work Programme (CWP) Implementation for the Eastern Cape, Western Cape, and Northern Cape regions. Position Overview

The advertised role is for Chief Director: CWP Implementation (EC, WC and NC), based in Pretoria. The successful candidate will receive an attractive all-inclusive remuneration package of R1 494 900 per annum at salary level 14.

Key Responsibilities

The appointed candidate will play a crucial role in driving the Community Work Programme across the allocated provinces. Responsibilities include:

  • Facilitating the implementation of the Community Work Programme (CWP)
  • Overseeing CWP policies, frameworks, norms, and standards
  • Monitoring contract management and ensuring compliance
  • Coordinating provincial and local stakeholder structures
  • Establishing smart partnerships to strengthen programme impact
  • Managing reporting processes and maintaining work opportunities

Minimum Requirements

Applicants interested in the position must meet several key requirements, including:

  • An undergraduate qualification in Social Sciences, Community Development, Public Administration, or an equivalent NQF Level 7 qualification recognised by SAQA
  • At least five years of experience at senior managerial level
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word
  • A valid driver’s licence
  • Completion of the Nyukela Senior Management Pre-Entry Programme before appointment

Additional skills in MS PowerPoint and MS Project will serve as an added advantage.
