Limpopo Government Vacancies 2026: Department of Economic Development, Environment and Tourism Job Opportunities

The Department of Economic Development, Environment and Tourism has officially opened applications for a wide range of high-level and specialist vacancies for 2026. The department is seeking experienced professionals across corporate services, tourism, environmental management, communication, human resources, risk management, and economic development.

These positions are based mainly in Polokwane, with additional opportunities available in districts including Giyani, Modimolle, Lebowakgomo, and Thohoyandou.

LEDET Recruitment Drive Targets Skilled Professionals

The latest recruitment drive includes executive management roles, deputy director positions, assistant director vacancies, and environmental specialist opportunities. Salaries range from over R480,000 annually to executive packages exceeding R1.7 million per year.

The department stated that the recruitment process forms part of its commitment to strengthening public service delivery, economic growth, tourism development, environmental protection, and corporate governance within Limpopo Province.

Top Executive Positions Available

Among the highest-paying vacancies is the Chief Director: Business Regulations & Governance role, offering an annual package between R1.49 million and R1.78 million. The successful candidate will oversee liquor regulation, consumer protection, business registration, and governance functions within the province.

Another key executive opening is the Chief Director: Corporate Services position, also carrying a salary package of up to R1.78 million annually. This role focuses on strategic leadership in human resources, legal administration, employee wellness, IT services, and facility management.

The department is also recruiting a Director: Human Resource Management & Development and a Director: Communication Services. The communication role is particularly notable for its focus on digital marketing, crisis communication, SEO strategies, online reputation management, and modern multimedia engagement.

Tourism and Economic Development Opportunities

Several opportunities are available for professionals in tourism and economic empowerment sectors.

The department is hiring a Deputy Director: Tourism Planning & Regulations to support tourism growth strategies, sector research, stakeholder coordination, and economic planning.

Another major vacancy is the Deputy Director: Economic Empowerment role, which focuses on B-BBEE initiatives, enterprise support programmes, skills development, and economic inclusion for vulnerable groups.
