Deputy Director: ICT Data Governance, Risk and Compliance

One of the standout vacancies is the position of Deputy Director: ICT Data Governance, Risk and Compliance based in Pretoria, Hatfield.

The successful candidate will play a major role in supporting government digital transformation projects while ensuring secure and ethical data management practices across systems and platforms.

Salary and Benefits

The position offers an annual salary package of R1.1 million at salary level 12, including government pension contributions, medical aid, and flexible benefits.

Key Responsibilities

The selected candidate will be responsible for:

  • Supporting the implementation of data governance frameworks
  • Monitoring data quality, integrity, and cybersecurity compliance
  • Assisting with digital government initiatives and interoperability projects
  • Ensuring compliance with legislation such as POPIA and PFMA
  • Contributing to the department’s digital transformation roadmap

Minimum Requirements

Applicants must possess:

  • An NQF Level 6 qualification in Information Technology, Computer Science, Electronic Engineering, or a related field
  • At least five years of relevant experience
  • Three years of management-level experience within ICT or digital transformation environments

Technical knowledge in Java, PHP, Python, risk management, and metadata governance will be advantageous.

Assistant Director: Facilities Management

The department is also hiring an Assistant Director: Facilities Management on a permanent basis.

Salary Package

The position offers a salary of R487,197 per annum at salary level 9.

Main Duties

The successful candidate will oversee:

  • Occupational health and safety services
  • Maintenance and hygiene management
  • Business continuity planning
  • Lease management and accommodation coordination
  • Physical security strategy implementation

Qualifications Required

Candidates need:

  • An NQF Level 6 qualification in Facilities Management, Logistics Management, or Safety Management
  • A minimum of three years’ supervisory experience in facilities or safety management

Knowledge of workplace incident investigations, SAMTRAC, and emergency planning will strengthen applications.

Assistant Director: Salaries and Payroll

Another key vacancy is for an Assistant Director: Salaries and Payroll, also located in Pretoria.

Salary

The role offers R487,197 annually.

Core Responsibilities

The successful applicant will manage:

  • Payroll administration and salary processing
  • PERSAL and BAS system transactions
  • SARS tax reconciliations
  • Debt management and payroll reporting
  • Payroll compliance with PFMA and Treasury regulations

Candidate Requirements

  • At least three years of supervisory experience within payroll or salary administration

Experience with SARS EasyFile submissions and PERSAL systems will be considered an advantage.
