Independent Police Investigative Directorate (IPID) Vacancies 2026

Minimum Requirements

Applicants must possess:

  • A relevant qualification in Financial Management at NQF Level 7.
  • At least three years of relevant supervisory experience.
  • Knowledge of public sector financial legislation and systems.
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
  • Computer literacy and the ability to work effectively under pressure.

Candidates should also have knowledge of:

  • Independent Police Investigative Directorate (IPID) Act
  • Public Service Act
  • Public Finance Management Act (PFMA)
  • Treasury Regulations
  • Internal Control procedures
  • PERSAL, LOGIS, ELS, and BAS systems
  • Government budgeting processes

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and overseeing various financial accounting functions within the department.

Revenue Management

  • Monitor revenue collection processes.
  • Ensure proper recording and safeguarding of public funds.
  • Oversee banking procedures and reconciliations.
  • Verify electronic payments and allocations.
  • Manage petty cash reconciliations and reporting.

Debt Management

  • Supervise debt recording and recovery processes.
  • Engage with debtors regarding payment arrangements.
  • Ensure compliance with approved debt collection procedures.

Expenditure Management

  • Verify expenditure transactions.
  • Ensure compliance with budget allocations.
  • Oversee creditor reconciliations and supplier payments.
  • Monitor financial transactions captured on BAS and LOGIS systems.

Transfers and Subsidies

  • Authorise transfer and subsidy payments.
  • Verify compliance with financial legislation.
  • Ensure institutions meet eligibility requirements before payments are processed.

Financial Reporting

  • Prepare monthly reports for National Treasury.
  • Assist with financial statement preparation.
  • Analyse financial records and reconcile accounts.
  • Ensure accuracy and completeness of financial information.

Staff Supervision

  • Supervise and support financial accounting personnel.
  • Allocate duties and monitor performance.
  • Provide guidance, training, and development opportunities.
  • Ensure quality control and compliance with departmental standards.
