Minimum Requirements
Applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Grade 12 (Matric) certificate.
- National Diploma (NQF Level 6) in Financial Management, Financial Accounting, or an equivalent qualification.
- Between 3 and 5 years of experience in a financial management environment.
- Supervisory experience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Valid driver’s licence.
- Knowledge of:
- Public Finance Management Act (PFMA)
- Treasury Regulations
- Public Service Act and Public Service Regulations
- Post-School Education and Training (PSET) and Continuing Education and Training (CET) legislation
- National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) regulations and related legislation
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
Revenue Management
- Overseeing revenue collection and recording processes.
- Managing cashier services, banking activities, and electronic payments.
- Monitoring compliance with financial policies and procedures.
- Ensuring accurate bank reconciliations and safeguarding financial records.
Debt Management
- Supervising debt collection activities.
- Monitoring debtor accounts and repayment arrangements.
- Ensuring proper recording and allocation of payments received.
Expenditure Control
- Managing payroll-related financial transactions.
- Overseeing expenditure on goods and services.
- Ensuring compliance with budget provisions and financial regulations.
- Authorising payments and maintaining financial controls.
Financial Reporting
- Monitoring income and expenditure against approved budgets.
- Reviewing financial reports and reconciliations.
- Assisting with interim and annual financial reporting requirements.
Staff Supervision
- Managing and mentoring finance personnel.
- Allocating work and ensuring quality control.
- Monitoring employee performance and development.
- Implementing efficient financial systems and processes.
