Salary
Successful candidates will receive an annual salary of R407 337 per annum (OSD).
Minimum Requirements
Applicants must possess:
- Grade 12 certificate
- BSc or National Diploma in:
- Botany
- Agronomy
- Horticulture
- Agriculture or related qualification
- Registration with the South African Council for Natural Scientific Professions (SACNASP)
- At least 3 years of post-qualification experience in plant conservation, horticulture, or agriculture
Key Responsibilities
The role focuses on the conservation and sustainable use of plant genetic resources. Duties include:
- Seed processing and storage
- Germination testing
- Data collection and reporting
- Supporting conservation projects
- Assisting with gene bank management
- Conducting research activities related to agriculture and biodiversity
Skills Needed

Another exciting opportunity is available for an Agricultural Product Technician in the Directorate of Animal Production.
Salary Package
The position offers a salary of R413 001 per annum (Level 8).
Qualifications Required
Applicants must hold:
- BSc Agric in Animal Production or Animal Science
OR - BTech or Advanced Diploma in Animal Science
Additional requirements include:
- SACNASP registration
- Minimum 2 years relevant experience
- Knowledge of the Animal Improvement Act, 1998
Main Duties
The successful candidate will:
- Provide technical advice on animal products and genetic material
- Monitor import and export regulations
- Evaluate donor animals and genetic profiles
- Assist with animal breeding standards
- Liaise with livestock industry stakeholders
- Maintain databases and compile reports
Essential Skills
