Department of Home Affairs Vacancies 2026: New Career Opportunities Open Across South Africa

Senior Law Enforcement Director Position Available

One of the flagship vacancies advertised is the Director: Central Law Enforcement position based at the DHA Head Office in Tshwane.

The successful candidate will oversee immigration inspections, coordinate national law enforcement operations, and work closely with agencies such as SAPS, Correctional Services, and intelligence structures. The role also involves managing investigations, deportation coordination, policy implementation, and strategic operational planning.

The position offers an all-inclusive salary package ranging from approximately R1.2 million to R1.49 million annually.

Applicants must possess:

  • An NQF Level 7 qualification in fields such as Security Management, Policing, Public Administration, or International Relations
  • At least five years of middle or senior management experience
  • Experience in law enforcement and operational planning
  • A valid driver’s licence

Asset and Property Management Opportunities

The DHA is also recruiting Assistant Directors for Asset and Property Management in:

  • Limpopo
  • North West
  • Western Cape

These roles focus on overseeing departmental assets, transport services, budgeting, property management, and compliance with public finance regulations.

Candidates need:

  • An NQF Level 6 qualification in Supply Chain or Logistics Management
  • Three years of supervisory experience in supply chain management
  • Strong financial and project management skills

Successful applicants can expect salaries between R487,197 and R573,897 per year.

Investigation Specialists Needed

The department is further expanding its anti-corruption and fraud investigation units by hiring Assistant Directors: Investigations in:

  • Eastern Cape
  • KwaZulu-Natal
  • Mpumalanga

The selected candidates will investigate fraud, corruption, and criminal activities involving both officials and external syndicates. Responsibilities include drafting investigation reports, managing case files, conducting risk assessments, and supporting disciplinary or criminal proceedings.

To qualify, applicants require:

  • A qualification in Law, Criminal Justice, Forensic Investigation, or Policing
  • At least three years of supervisory experience in investigations
  • Knowledge of anti-corruption frameworks and criminal justice systems

The positions also offer salaries from R487,197 to R573,897 annually.

Information Systems Audit Vacancy Open

For professionals in technology and auditing, DHA is hiring an Assistant Director: Information Systems Audit at its Tshwane headquarters.

The role involves:

  • Executing internal IT audits
  • Managing audit software systems
  • Conducting data analysis
  • Supporting risk-based audit planning

Applicants should have qualifications in:

  • Computer Science
  • Information Systems
  • Internal Auditing

Experience with audit analytics tools such as ACL Analytics or Arbutus will be advantageous.

  • Managing operational performance
