The department is seeking candidates with a Bachelor’s Degree or Advanced Diploma in fields such as Town and Regional Planning, Economics, Development Studies, Public Administration, Business Administration, Local Economic Development, Environmental Management, or Resource Economics. Applicants must also possess a valid driver’s license and at least two years of relevant experience in mineral regulation.
Successful candidates will be responsible for administering land use applications, conducting inspections and audits, handling township development applications, and providing guidance on surface land rights matters. Additional responsibilities include maintaining databases, compiling recommendation reports, and liaising with stakeholders in the mining and development sectors.
The department noted that strong communication, research, stakeholder management, and map interpretation skills will be advantageous for the role.
Personal Assistant Position Available in Pretoria
Another vacancy advertised is for a Personal Assistant to the Chief Director in the Office of the Director-General at the department’s Pretoria head office. The position also offers a salary of R338,106 per annum.
Applicants must hold a National Diploma in Office Administration, Office Management and Technology, or Public Administration at NQF Level 6, along with at least one year of relevant experience.
The successful candidate will provide administrative and secretarial support, coordinate meetings, assist with budget administration, and ensure compliance with departmental policies and public service regulations.
