Eastern Cape Department of Health Vacancies 2026: EMS Course Coordinator Post Open

The Eastern Cape Department of Health, through the Eastern Cape College of Emergency Care, is inviting suitably qualified candidates to apply for an EMS Course Coordinator Grade 4 position. This opportunity is ideal for experienced Emergency Care Practitioners with strong academic, clinical, and coordination skills who are passionate about training future EMS professionals.

Salary: R528 072 – R594 864 per annum (OSD)

Minimum Requirements

Applicants must meet the following criteria to be considered:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Emergency Medical Care or Bachelor of Technology in Emergency Medical Care

  • Registration with the HPCSA as a Paramedic or Emergency Care Practitioner (ECP)

  • Minimum of three (3) years’ experience after HPCSA registration as an ECP

  • At least two (2) years’ lecturing experience in Emergency Medical Care and Rescue at a College or University

  • Experience in teaching, assessment, and moderation

  • Curriculum development experience will be an added advantage

  • Strong management, coordination, and administrative skills

  • Computer literacy

  • Valid C1 driver’s licence with a valid Professional Driving Permit (PrDP)


Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating and managing clinical and academic programmes offered by the College, including:

  • Higher Certificate and Diploma in Emergency Medical Care

  • Clinical Practice programmes

  • Continuous Professional Development (CPD) programmes

  • Advanced Certificate in Medical Rescue and Rescue Short Courses

  • Managing clinical preceptors within experiential learning platforms

  • Supporting daily operational duties of the College

  • Assisting with additional programmes when required by management
