Gauteng Provincial Treasury Announces Job Opportunities

The Gauteng Provincial Treasury has opened applications for several senior and specialist vacancies aimed at strengthening governance, financial management, supply chain oversight, and internal auditing across the province. Interested candidates are encouraged to submit their applications online before the closing date of 08 June 2026.

According to the department, all applications must include a newly signed Z83 form together with an updated CV. The recruitment process will also include suitability checks, competency assessments for senior management positions, and integrity assessments for shortlisted applicants.

Director: Open Tender Support

One of the top vacancies advertised is the position of Director: Open Tender Support within the Provincial Supply Chain Management Directorate. The successful candidate will receive an all-inclusive annual salary package of R1 266 714 and will be based in Johannesburg.

Applicants are required to hold an NQF Level 7 qualification in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Public Administration, Economics, or Commerce, along with at least five years of managerial experience. A valid driver’s license and completion of the Public Service SMS Pre-entry Programme are also compulsory.

The role focuses on overseeing procurement planning, improving compliance in supply chain management, managing open tender processes, and introducing strategic risk management solutions. The successful candidate will also lead supply chain teams, provide SCM training, and drive operational innovation within the province.

The department noted that this position is specifically earmarked to promote employment equity with a focus on female and youth representation at senior management level.

Deputy Director: Supply Chain Management Acquisitions and Logistics

The Gauteng Provincial Treasury is also recruiting a Deputy Director for Supply Chain Management Acquisitions and Logistics in the Office of the Chief Financial Officer. The position offers an annual salary package of R932 292.

Candidates must possess an NQF Level 7 qualification in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Finance, or Logistics, as well as between three and five years of experience in the SCM environment at Assistant Director level.

Responsibilities include managing bid processes, compiling bid documentation, overseeing supplier databases, and supervising acquisition and logistics management operations.

Deputy Director: Transversal Risk Management

Another notable opening is for the Deputy Director: Transversal Risk Management under the Financial Governance Directorate. The successful applicant will earn R932 292 annually.

Applicants must hold a recognised degree in Risk Management, Accounting, Finance, or Internal Auditing, with professional membership to IRMSA considered an advantage. The role requires three to five years of relevant experience at Assistant Director level.

Key duties include supporting departments and municipalities with risk management implementation, maintaining risk profiles, ensuring timely reporting, and supervising staff performance.

Assistant Director Positions Available

The Treasury has further advertised multiple Assistant Director vacancies in Johannesburg.

Assistant Director: Asset Management

Three posts are available for Assistant Director: Asset Management with a salary of R487 197 per annum plus benefits.

The department is seeking candidates with qualifications in Accounting, Finance, or Auditing, as well as experience in asset management or auditing environments. Applicants must also demonstrate knowledge of PFMA regulations, asset management frameworks, and financial reporting standards such as GRAP and GAAP.

The successful candidates will oversee asset verification processes, review annual financial statements, update asset registers, and monitor implementation of audit recommendations.

Assistant Director: Accounting Compliance

Two vacancies are available for Assistant Director: Accounting Compliance (Statutory Deduction Management). The positions offer salaries of R487 197 per annum plus benefits.

Applicants need an NQF Level 6 qualification in Accounting or Finance and at least three to five years of experience in statutory deductions management. Experience with systems such as PERSAL, BAS, and SAP will be advantageous.

The role includes overseeing interdepartmental debt recovery, managing statutory deductions, preparing financial reports, and ensuring compliance with PFMA and Treasury Regulations.

Assistant Director: Internal Audit Quality Assurance

The department is also seeking an Assistant Director: Internal Audit Quality Assurance within Gauteng Audit Services. The position carries a salary package of R487 197 per annum plus benefits.

Applicants should hold a qualification in Internal Audit, while certifications such as CIA, PIA, GIA, or IAT will serve as added advantages. Candidates must also have three to five years of internal auditing experience.

Responsibilities include conducting quality assurance reviews, managing audit software systems, maintaining audit methodologies, and ensuring compliance with global internal audit standards.
