Minimum Requirements

Candidates applying for the post must possess:

  • A relevant NQF Level 7 qualification in:
    • Supply Chain Management
    • Logistics
    • Transport and Asset Management
    • Bachelor of Commerce or related qualification
  • Between 3 and 5 years of relevant experience in:
    • Asset management
    • Transport or fleet management
    • Supervisory-level responsibilities
  • A valid driver’s license

The department is looking for applicants with strong knowledge of:

  • LOGIS systems
  • Public Finance Management Act (PFMA)
  • Treasury Regulations
  • SCM regulations and policy frameworks
  • Fleet and transport management systems

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will oversee the management and control of movable and immovable assets within the department. Duties include:

  • Monitoring and updating asset registers
  • Asset allocation and barcode administration
  • Fleet and transport management
  • Vehicle maintenance and compliance monitoring
  • Fuel usage and logbook oversight
  • Managing supply chain documentation and records
  • Producing monthly, quarterly and annual asset reports
  • Supporting audit readiness and financial reporting
  • Supervising staff and performance management
  • Implementing risk management and internal controls

The role also requires ensuring compliance with National Treasury guidelines and internal SCM policies.
